Outcomes: Participants will be introduced to a range of engaging teaching techniques to help them to deliver quality sessions of Guided and Shared Reading and to develop their children’s comprehension in a range of contexts.

Target audience: Teachers in KS1 and KS2

Course content: Teachers will be introduced to a range of practical and easy to implement strategies to develop reading comprehension in all contexts.

There will be an emphasis upon the new style of test questions in Y2 and Y6 and how these can be introduced throughout the whole school.

We will also examine an effective teaching sequence that will enable children to use their reading to inform their writing, including the use of effective punctuation and grammar.

Free reading fans: Each delegate will receive a free set of reading comprehension fans – pictured above.
