First delivered in 2023, this half day or twilight session is full of practical ideas for teachers to use in whole school project using the same book, the magical Journey by Aaron Becker. A one school – one book project can provide a focus for the whole school to share, enjoy, discuss and provide real reasons for reading and writing. These projects can be especially useful when a specific need for development has been identified in a school.

From a whole school launch, through age related activities and outcomes to final sharing events and displays a school community can be united.

After immersion in the text, written outcomes can relate to prediction, plot, settings and character. The ideas are based upon those in my Prediction to Publishing five phase English or Finding the Plot writing CPD but previous experience of this is not necessary.

Although Journey was chosen for the launch of this CPD, It could be easily amended to a book of the school’s choice.
