There is little that is actually new within the framework. The content echoes the recommendations from the reports mentioned above by the DfE and Ofsted over the last two or three years. The focus remains very much on developing transcription skills in the Early Years and Y1 and the use of quality texts to encourage oral composition and the internalisation of story and book language through immersion in texts.  For Y2 and the KS2 courses there will continue to be an emphasis on the role of sentence level work as a route to composition.

Content from The Reading Framework (2023) is well established within the courses.
